On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel on Sunday flagged off the “Cancer Free Women Bharat Yatra – Anandi Maa Ek Jeevan Bachao Abhiyaan”. The event was organised by the Stree Welfare Foundation.
The rally began at the Jan Bhavan Portico and passed through Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Atal Chowk, Park Road, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Marg, Civil Square, and Bhanumati Road, concluding at the Sarojini Naidu Marg intersection.

The rally championed women’s health and cancer awareness as part of its commitment to a healthy India.

On this occasion, the Governor met the organisation’s delegation and praised the work being done for the welfare of society. She stated that women’s health is the foundation of strength, not only for the family but for the entire society, and that timely screening and awareness can prevent serious diseases like cancer.
More than 130 people participated in the rally, spreading the message of “Healthy Mother – Safe Future.” Women, youth, and social workers enthusiastically participated in the programme and pledged to spread awareness about cancer.
Encouraging the organisation to work on a larger scale in the future, she stated that such campaigns serve as a medium for awareness and positive change in society.
During the programme, those present pledged: “May every mother be safe, May every sister be aware, May every daughter be healthy and empowered.”
This campaign is not just a rally but an important initiative towards strengthening health, awareness, and human sensitivity in society.
